Press Start to run this 13 minute timer from 13:00. The shrinking circle and large digits show the time left, with a chime at the end.
For a classroom writing activity, allow 1 minute to read a prompt, 10 minutes to write and 2 minutes to review. Tell the class when to switch stages: this is a single countdown, not an automatic interval timer.
Use F for full screen on a projector and Space to pause for a question. R resets the countdown to 13 minutes. To use another length, choose a time above or enter it in Custom time.
Ideas for using it
- A writing activity with time to read, write and review
- A 10-minute task plus a 3-minute setup and check
- A practice round projected on a classroom screen
How to use the timer
- Tap a time (or type your own, like 7, 2:30 or 1h 15m) and press Start.
- Use Full screen on a supported browser to show the timer on a projector, smartboard or TV. Check the actual display before relying on it.
- When the time is up, the timer shows Time’s up! and attempts to play a chime if sound is on. Keep the device awake and test the audio first. Reset prepares another round.

Add this 13 minute timer to your website
Teachers can put it on a class website or Google Sites page: paste this free, ad-free embed code into a page that allows iframes. Full screen also depends on the host page and browser allowing it. Check the preview and adjust the iframe height in your site editor if it is clipped; test the published page before an activity.

Frequently asked questions
How do I display a 13 minute timer for a class?
Open this page on the computer connected to your projector or display. Press Start, then F for full screen. Test the device volume before class if you want the end chime.
Does it ring at each stage of the writing activity?
No. The suggested 1 + 10 + 2 minute activity uses one 13-minute countdown. The chime plays only at the end; the teacher gives the stage instructions.
Will the timer keep running if I switch tabs?
The timer calculates the remaining time from an end time and can catch up after a delayed update. Browsers can throttle or suspend hidden pages, so an alarm may be delayed. Keep the timer visible and the device awake when timing matters; sleeping devices and closed tabs are not supported.
